Eli, you do killer posts. I love your blog. Well, my limit is the possibility that the project could be promoting affiliate hijacking. This looking at the big picture is destroying internet affiliate marketing as we know it.

Great couple of posts! Wish I'd found them a while ago, but it looks like this could tie in nicely with another project I'm working on now so the timing of me finding it is great.

I was starting to get pissed off with myself for spending time reading - not doing, but this has been very valuable. I've learnt more about myself and got loads of ideas!

Cheers!

I've got one guy making the screensavers, and a company making the website. I've got my Zango account up and ready and although this is going to take about 3 weeks until completion nd cost me quite a bit of money, I'm really excited about the results.

Thanks Eli, You are a great inspiration.

Best wishes,

matt,xref- this is a tough one to answer, cus i really don't remember which post i wrote first. At his point about i'm about 2 and a half months ahead in posts and have a hard enough time remembering my shoes in the morning. :) . When i release a post the only thing i do is proof read it and write the top and bottom paragraphs. You're probably right though i probably didn't even think about this post until after i already wrote the $100/day post because this post was to the left of the other on my drafts list. Which means it was at least intitially started after.
So who owes who a 100 bones?

Another way of saying all this is:
There's no money without effort, and no matter how detailed you can be, most of the people are too lazy to actually do things that make them earn money.

(By the way I'd rather use the word "simple" than "easy" when it comes to describe the $100/day post.)

I Feel like a rat in a maze. But interesting post there Eli. I'm still doing the project though! Have all images collected and organised, site template prepared and screensaver software purchased.
I love that you mentioned promosoft... That software kicks ass, you create XML pad files. That contain all the information you would fill into the form. Such as

Where to download the file?
Whats the name of the file?
File size?
which os's support it?
Short description of file?
medium description of file?
Long description of file?
link to webpage of file?
link to updated pad file of file?
version of file?
screenshot of file?
type / category of file?

Fill it out once and hit submit - promosoft...

Think they have a trial version too.

I have done this exact project, with games, screensavers, etc.

While your making each page for the screensaver, throw adsense on it, or some affiliate banner... Make even more money =)

I'm the kind of marketer who will do anything for money.

My limits:
Except I won't do email spam.
Wont steal or cheat or scam.

Anything else goes.

I just satrted reading your blog right after you posted the $100/day challenge. The moment I finished reading it, I started trying to make it work. I modified a few things, but I'm currently waiting for zango to approve me. I've collected the images and made the screensavers. I actually enjoyed doing that part since I picked a topic I like, which is also popular.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for posting it. I don't know if it'll work, heck, I could do everything right and still not get any downloads, but I'm going to try it anyway. At this point, $100/day means the difference between buying a used car that runs, or waiting until the one I have dies. I have good motivation to make SOMETHING work.

Anyway, I plan to follow through on this and I'll let you know how it goes once I'm done.

I certainly was not as easy as it sounded, it takes a lot of time to put everything together, but for me at least the payout would be worth it.

Badass post and study Eli. It was always in the back of my mind that the vast majority of people reading the post would never try it...that's pretty standard for most of IM though.

Breaking it down to how people looked at each decision point in the project is great. For me, it will allow me to speed up the brainstorming process by following a similar algorithm when trying to decide if a project is "worth it" or not.

I do plan on trying the screen saver project, but I've got a couple of other projects that I'm working on right now that need to get finished up first.

I'll let you know how it turns out =D
